She built it to be beautiful. Controlled. A place where things grew on her terms.

The garden had other ideas. The roses climbed where she didn't plant them. The paths she laid filled in. What she pruned came back stronger. What she nurtured quietly died.

Now she walks through it every morning and tries to decide if she's looking at a failure or something better than what she planned. She hasn't decided yet. The garden doesn't seem to care either way.
